The herd
BIKs
A BIK is a stored copy of a bull's genetics. You breed a cow with the BIK while the bull is somewhere else, or after you have sold him.
Taking them off a bull
Open the bull and extract BIKs. Each one costs 10 TOUGH. You can take up to 10 in one pull. The BIK keeps his breed, origin, rarity, genes, and looks. A steer cannot make a BIK. The bull has to still be a bull.
Using one
The cow has to be in heat. Pick the BIK on the breeding page. The BIK is used up whether the breeding takes or fails, the same way an embryo is used up. Close relatives are capped and the game warns you before you spend the BIK on a bad match.
BIKs can also be bought and sold. A purebred Longhorn BIK is one of the things a cattle pack can include. Healthy purebred cattle have their own sale. A BIK is the genetics token, and it moves through the BIK market.
