Purebreds

A purebred is a marked animal. The mark is on the cattle record, and it changes where you can sell her and how hard she is to keep.

What the mark does

A purebred's health falls more slowly than the same animal without the mark. That is an advantage in the corral and on grass. It also changes the sale.

A healthy purebred does not go in the ordinary Sale Yard. Enter her in the Purebred Sale, or sell her as meat on the commodity market. An injured purebred can still be listed in the Sale Yard.

The Purebred Sale

The Purebred Sale runs on a shared clock, every 14 real days. The opening price is the commodity quote plus 30 percent. Bids move in steps of 5 TOUGH.

Health decides the result:

  • At 70 health or better, she sells at the full price the bidding reached.
  • From 50 through 69, she sells at a 15 percent discount.
  • Below 50, there is no sale. She goes back to her owner.

Read the commodity page for how that opening quote is built. The Purebred Sale is the player market for sound purebreds. The commodity market is the meat check.
